With the ability to deploy autonomous sensor drones and passively intercept enemy communications, these units monitor vast sections of battlespace while remaining virtually undetectable to enemy forces.

APC AOV Blueprint

The APC variant of the Aerial Operations Vehicle (a.k.a. "The Griffin") represents a crucial evolution in rapid troop deployment capabilities. Built around a reinforced passenger compartment protected by multi-layered reactive armour and adaptive shield systems, it can safely transport troops through contested airspace. The vessel's sophisticated inertial dampening system ensures stable flight even under heavy fire, whilst protecting passengers from the extreme g-forces associated with evasive manoeuvres.

A distinguishing feature is its rapid deployment system, which combines short-range teleportation technology with traditional deployment methods. This hybrid approach allows troops to be deployed either via conventional ramps in secure areas or transmitted directly to the ground when under fire, significantly reducing vulnerability during the deployment phase. The system includes emergency pattern buffers that can safely store troops' patterns for several seconds if the primary deployment systems are damaged.

The APC AOV features multiple defensive systems specifically designed to protect vulnerable troops during transport operations. The shield configuration prioritises protection of the passenger compartment, whilst the weapon hardpoints are typically configured with point-defence systems and anti-missile capabilities. With specifications supporting 4 weapon slots and 8-18 technology slots across its three marks, the APC AOV can be configured with substantial defensive systems without compromising its primary transport role.

When upgraded with tactical cloak generators, it can infiltrate enemy airspace to deliver troops behind enemy lines, though maintaining cloak significantly reduces maximum operating time. The APC AOV's mass specifications of 2,128-2,979 tonnes across its marks reflect the substantial protection provided to its precious human cargo.

This unit exists as a Field Aerial Operations Vehicle only; for water-based personnel transport, commanders should deploy the APC Naval Surface Unit instead.

Armoured Support Units

Armoured Support Units (ASUs) are a versatile fleet of ground vehicles that provide essential supporting services to the primary combat units. These specialized platforms extend your operational capabilities across the battlefield, offering everything from logistics and repair to reconnaissance and deployment functions. Each ASU variant is carefully engineered to fulfill specific tactical roles that enhance the overall effectiveness of your forces.

The APC ASU (a.k.a. "The Buffalo") provides critical crew recovery and replacement services, transporting troops and personnel safely through contested areas. These units are especially valuable for evacuating crews from threatened Installations and Outposts, offering protection that would be unavailable if personnel attempted to evacuate on foot.

The ARS ASU (a.k.a. "The Badger") delivers essential field repairs and refuelling for units too damaged or with insufficient fuel to repair themselves or return to base. Equipped with specialized interfaces and Refuelling Pods, these mobile maintenance platforms can restore combat effectiveness to units that would otherwise be lost or stranded in hostile territory.

The Assault ASU (a.k.a. "The Lion") provides rapid response supporting firepower with its superior weapon capacity and enhanced performance characteristics. With more hardpoints and higher tolerance for mass, power, and thermal loads, these units deliver combat effectiveness that outmatches other ASU variants, making them ideal for escort and fire support missions.

The Communications ASU (a.k.a. "The Wolf") extends command and control capabilities far beyond standard communication range, enabling long-range deployments and operations deep behind enemy lines. Uniquely able to equip Comms Extenders and Disruptors, these units serve as mobile communication hubs that allow other units to receive orders as if connected directly to the RTN.

The Deployment ASU (a.k.a. "The Bear") is critical to strategic success, being one of the few units capable of firing the nano-tech deployment payloads that construct all Installations and Outposts. As the Command Centre can produce these units even without specialized facilities, they provide essential infrastructure expansion capabilities even when production Outposts are lost.

The Recon ASU (a.k.a. "The Leopard") delivers specialized advanced reconnaissance capabilities vital for covering new sectors and providing intelligence on expansion strategies. Often equipped with Environmental Scanners and Long Range Fire Control systems, these units can direct artillery from other units while remaining undetected.

For especially challenging terrain operations, the Scout ASU (a.k.a. "The Coyote") offers a lightweight reconnaissance variant optimized for high mobility in areas too confined or treacherous for larger units. Roughly the size of pre-war civilian monster trucks, these nimble platforms excel in dense forests, mountainous regions, and urban environments.

APC ASU Blueprint

In much the same way as the APC NSU (a.k.a. "The Orca") is used to securely transport troop and crew units by water, the APC ASU (a.k.a. "The Buffalo") is used to transport them over land. Typically, these are often used to evacuate crew from Installations and Outposts that are at risk of falling to the enemy. If the crew simply evacuated the building, they would be quickly cut down by enemy fire; the APC ASU affords a degree of protection to evacuating them in large numbers and pulling back out of range of enemy fire.

The APC ASU employs the same optimised transporter technology for the loading and unloading of other crew and troop units. With its balanced configuration of weapon slots and technology slots, the APC ASU can be equipped with sufficient defensive capabilities to ensure the safe transport of personnel through contested areas while maintaining mobility.

As part of the Armoured Support Unit division, the APC ASU complements other specialized units like the ATC ASU (a.k.a. "The Elephant"), which handles vehicle transport rather than personnel movement. Its role in crew recovery and replacement is vital to maintaining operational effectiveness across your forces, allowing you to quickly reinforce units that have suffered personnel losses or evacuate crew from threatened positions.

This unit exists as a Field Armoured Support Unit only; for water-based personnel transport, commanders should deploy the APC Naval Surface Unit instead.

ATC ASU Blueprint

In much the same way as the APC NSU (a.k.a. "The Orca") is used to securely transport troop and crew units by water, the ATC ASU (a.k.a. "The Elephant") is used to transport mobile units over land. Typically, these are often used to evacuate vehicles and equipment from Installations and Outposts that are at risk of falling to the enemy. The ATC ASU affords a degree of protection to these valuable assets, allowing them to be safely withdrawn from threatened areas and redeployed where they can be more effective.

The ATC ASU employs advanced transporter technology for the loading and unloading of other mobile units. They can transport units that are damaged beyond local repair or have run out of fuel when an ARS unit is not available to fix them on site. Its matter-stream energy pattern storage allows it to dematerialize multiple vehicles for efficient transport and then rematerialize them at their destination.

As part of the Armoured Support Unit division, the ATC ASU complements other specialized units like the APC ASU (a.k.a. "The Buffalo") which handles personnel transport. With specifications similar to the APC variant, the ATC focuses on vehicle transport rather than personnel movement, making it an essential logistics component for any mobile force.

This unit exists as a Field Armoured Support Unit only; for water-based vehicle transport, commanders should deploy the ATC Naval Surface Unit (a.k.a. "The Leviathan") instead.

ARS ASU Blueprint

The Automated Repair System ASU (a.k.a. "The Badger") is one of the most important mobile units available in your arsenal. It is comparatively quick and cheap to manufacture and can breathe new life into units that have been heavily damaged in battle or run out of fuel before they were able to return to their Outpost.

As with other ARS units like the ARS AOV (a.k.a. "The Phoenix"), the ARS ASU uses a scaled-up implementation of the Automatic Repair Systems technology component that can be fitted to all units, enabling them to attempt localised repairs based on respective component priorities driven by mission profiles. It is coupled with industrial grade short-range replicators that allow for surgical precision in the removal of irrevocably damaged items and their replacement with newly created counterparts.

Additionally, the ARS ASU can carry additional fuel reserves which are replenished when the unit is garrisoned to an Outpost equipped with Refuelling Pods. These fuel reserves can then be used to refuel other mobile units to allow for their recovery or to continue with the mission as planned. This dual-purpose capability makes the ARS ASU a versatile support unit that addresses the two most common issues that sideline combat units: battle damage and fuel depletion.

With its moderate mass (21.7-30.3 tonnes) and power requirements (4.7-11.1 MW), the ARS ASU offers an excellent balance of mobility and capability. Its 10-18 technology slots allow for comprehensive maintenance systems, while its 2 weapon slots provide limited self-defense capability. The ARS ASU serves two primary purposes: repairing critically damaged units in the field and refuelling units that have depleted their reserves, making it an essential component of any extended operation.

This unit exists as a Field Armoured Support Unit only; for aerial repair operations, commanders should deploy the ARS AOV (a.k.a. "The Phoenix"), while naval units typically return to appropriate Naval Installations for repairs.

Assault ASU Blueprint

The Assault ASU (a.k.a. "The Lion") stands as the highest specification Armoured Support Unit available in terms of component slots and upper limits on maximum configured mass, heat, and power output. With 4 weapon slots—double that of other ASU variants—and an impressive 14-22 technology slots across its three marks, it delivers unmatched combat capability within the support unit category. Its substantial mass (32.4-45.4 tonnes) provides a stable weapons platform while maintaining mobility suitable for rapid response operations.

This versatile combat platform can be configured in either a defensive mode to provide protection for other units or in offensive mode where it leads the charge! When deployed defensively, its weapon hardpoints can be equipped with a combination of anti-personnel and anti-vehicle systems to create overlapping fields of fire that protect vulnerable support units like the Communications ASU or Deployment ASU. In offensive configuration, the Assault ASU can mount high-powered weapons such as Gauss Guns, Railguns, or Plasma Cannons to deliver devastating firepower against enemy positions.

The Assault ASU's power distribution network (9.0-18.9 MW capacity) supports simultaneous operation of multiple weapon systems even during high-mobility manoeuvres. Its advanced heat management capabilities (7.2-15.1 MW thermal capacity) allow for sustained fire without risk of overheating, even in the most demanding combat conditions. These engineering features make it the perfect companion for specialized units that lack robust offensive capabilities but perform critical battlefield functions.

Unlike dedicated combat platforms like Heavy Armour Terrain Units (HATU) or Mechanised Combat Vehicles (MCV), the Assault ASU maintains the versatility and mobility characteristic of the ASU division while offering combat performance that approaches that of light combat vehicles. This balance of firepower, protection, and mobility allows it to respond quickly to emerging threats across the battlefield, providing crucial fire support precisely where and when it's needed most.

Strategic commanders often deploy Assault ASUs to escort high-value support units like the Deployment ASU during critical expansion operations or to reinforce defensive perimeters around key installations. Their rapid response capability makes them ideal for intercepting enemy reconnaissance units or disrupting attack formations before they can concentrate against your vulnerable facilities.

This unit exists as a Field Armoured Support Unit only; for aerial assault operations, commanders should deploy the Assault AOV (a.k.a. "The Harpy"), while naval combat relies on the Assault NSU (a.k.a. "The Hammerhead") or Assault NSSU (a.k.a. "The Meg").

Comms ASU Blueprint

The Communications ASU (a.k.a. "The Wolf") represents a critical command and control asset within your ground forces. In keeping with other communications units across divisions, the Communications ASU is specifically designed to be equipped with Comms Range Extenders to greatly increase the distance over which it can maintain secure communications with the Resource Transport Network. This extended connectivity allows mobile units to operate far beyond the standard communications range of static Installations and Outposts, dramatically increasing your operational flexibility.

The Communications ASU can also be equipped with Comms Disruptors which will attempt to overpower and disrupt the Comms Range Extenders of any enemy units in range, thereby preventing any units under enemy control from receiving new orders. This electronic warfare capability can be highly disruptive to enemy strategies if used effectively, essentially freezing enemy units with their current orders until they can re-establish communications. When deployed at critical junctures in the battlefield, this disruption can create windows of opportunity for your forces to seize tactical advantages.

What truly sets the Communications ASU apart from other support units is its unique ability to serve as a mobile communications relay. Any mobile unit within range of a Communications ASU can receive new orders through it, just as they would from a static Installation or Outpost. This capability effectively extends your command and control reach far beyond your established infrastructure, allowing for deep operations behind enemy lines or rapid exploitation of breakthrough opportunities.

With its moderate mass (11.3-15.8 tonnes) and power requirements (5.1-11.5 MW), the Communications ASU balances mobility with functionality. Its 12-20 technology slots provide ample capacity for communications equipment and electronic warfare systems, while its 2 weapon slots offer limited self-defense capability. Due to these offensive limitations, Communications ASUs are typically deployed with escort protection, often pairing with Assault ASUs to create balanced tactical units that combine firepower with extended communication range.

Strategic deployment of Communications ASUs requires careful consideration of battlefield topography and enemy positions. Placing these units on elevated terrain can maximize their effective range, while keeping them behind protective terrain features helps mitigate their vulnerability to direct fire. When positioned properly, these units can maintain continuous command and control over mobile forces even as they advance beyond the range of your fixed infrastructure.

This unit exists as a Field Armoured Support Unit only; for aerial communications operations, commanders should deploy the Communications AOV (a.k.a. "The Chimera"), while naval communications rely on the Communications NSU (a.k.a. "The Kraken") or Communications NSSU (a.k.a. "The Hydra").

Deployment ASU Blueprint

The Deployment ASU (a.k.a. "The Bear") holds a position of unparalleled strategic importance within your arsenal. Aside from the initial complement of officers, the Deployment ASU is the only other hardware available at the start of any mission (excluding action training missions available in the simulator once unlocked for a given island). Its first and most critical action is always to build the initial Command Centre so a secure connection can be established to the starship and its command team in orbit.

Deployment ASUs are used to create all Installations and Outposts that form the backbone of your strategic infrastructure. These units are often configured with Environmental Scanners to scout an area prior to deployment and provide detailed environmental data to the command team so they can locate the optimal placement of certain Installations and Outposts such as Reactor Installations and Wind Farm Outposts. A well-placed Reactor Installation on suitable geological formations can produce two to three times more power than one hastily deployed on suboptimal terrain.

The environmental data collected is also used to assess the effectiveness of stealth technology such as Thermal Scanners, Thermal Shunts, and Night Vision equipment. This has a direct bearing on the strategies that the various Combat Computers will devise for both offensive and defensive operations. The more comprehensive data on local conditions, the more effective your tactical planning will be across all aspects of the campaign.

The Deployment ASUs work by preprogramming their nanotech payloads to create the desired structure upon detonation. The nanotech will restructure local surroundings and use the energy released to fuel the construction of the desired unit. They are not, however, used to create mobile units – this manufacturing process takes place in the respective specialized Outposts. The precision targeting systems of the Deployment ASU allow for accurate placement even in complex terrain, ensuring optimal positioning of strategic assets.

With specifications showing one of the lightest ASU configurations (7.5-10.5 tonnes) and moderate power requirements (4.2-10.4 MW), the Deployment ASU prioritizes mobility and operational range over combat capability. Its 8-16 technology slots provide capacity for specialized deployment systems and environmental analysis equipment, while its limited 2 weapon slots offer minimal protection against light threats.

In addition to Armoured Operations Outposts, the Command Centre can also create Deployment ASUs, albeit at a reduced throughput – if the ASU is lost before Command Centre construction is underway, a new drop ship must be requested from orbit which can take some time and will leave you at a disadvantage compared to other combatants. Be sure to take good care of these vital units – some of the wildlife is not friendly, and Deployment ASUs have very limited offensive and defensive abilities. Prudent commanders often assign escort protection to these valuable assets, particularly when operating in unsecured territories.

This unit exists as either a Field Armoured Support Unit or its aerial counterpart, the Deployment AOV (a.k.a. "The Thunderbird"), giving you flexibility in how you deliver construction capability to different terrain types and tactical situations.

Recon ASU Blueprint

The Reconnaissance ASU (a.k.a. "The Leopard") represents the eyes and ears of your ground forces, designed to infiltrate enemy territory and gather critical intelligence while remaining undetected. As with other Recon class units across divisions, the Recon ASU is designed to be fast, agile, and loaded with stealth technology – it is a small unit ideal for leveraging the cover of forests and wooded areas to further reduce its visibility in hostile territory.

Typically equipped with a sophisticated array of technologies to scan the offensive and defensive capabilities of enemy Installations, the Recon ASU provides invaluable strategic data to help shape the decisions made by both the command team in orbit and the Combat Computers installed in the various units planetside. Its sensor suite can detect and analyze enemy unit configurations, weapon loadouts, and defensive emplacements, giving you a comprehensive picture of what you're facing before committing to engagement.

As new intelligence is discovered, it is distributed in real-time across the RTN and communications networks to update all other unit AIs, ensuring your entire force operates with the most current tactical information. This networked intelligence capability multiplies the effectiveness of a single Recon ASU, as its findings immediately inform the strategic calculations of your entire command structure.

Recon ASUs can, as with Deployment units, be equipped with Environmental Scanners that are used to build up a more accurate picture of local environmental conditions which can impact everything from Reactor Installation placement to what countermeasures to equip units with. For example, Thermal Scanners and Thermal Shunts are more effective in colder conditions, while Night Vision equipment becomes essential in low-light environments. This environmental intelligence allows for optimization of your forces to specific battlefield conditions.

With its moderate mass (10.8-15.1 tonnes) and power requirements (5.0-11.9 MW), the Recon ASU balances mobility with operational range and capability. Its 10-18 technology slots provide ample capacity for a comprehensive suite of scanning and stealth technologies, while its limited 2 weapon slots typically mount defensive armaments only. The Recon ASU is often equipped with ample Fuel Cells to extend its operational range deep into enemy territory.

The Recon ASU can be equipped with Long Range Fire Control systems to direct artillery strikes from other units without revealing its position. This capability allows it to not only gather intelligence but also to serve as a forward observer for precision strikes against high-value targets. When paired with Communications ASUs, Recon units can operate at extreme distances from your main forces while maintaining real-time data links to your command structure.

This unit exists as a Field Armoured Support Unit in standard form, or as the lighter Scout ASU (a.k.a. "The Coyote") variant for especially challenging terrain. For aerial reconnaissance, commanders deploy the Recon AOV (a.k.a. "The Shriek"), while naval intelligence gathering relies on the Recon NSU (a.k.a. "The Barracuda") or Recon NSSU (a.k.a. "The Mako").

Scout ASU Blueprint

The Scout ASU (a.k.a. "The Coyote") represents a specialized reconnaissance platform that prioritizes agility and adaptability over raw power. Built on a compact chassis roughly the size of pre-war civilian monster truck vehicles, it employs advanced suspension systems and variable-geometry wheel configurations that enable it to traverse extreme terrain at speeds that would cripple larger vehicles. The unit's lightweight composite frame incorporates radar-absorbent materials and adaptive camouflage systems, while its innovative propulsion system generates minimal acoustic and thermal signatures.

A distinguishing feature is its terrain-adaptive smart wheel system, which can dynamically adjust tyre pressure and power distribution via active differentials in real-time response to ground conditions. This technology, combined with its low centre of gravity and distributed weight management system, allows the Scout ASU to maintain mobility in environments that would bog down heavier units. The vehicle's compact profile enables it to exploit cover effectively and access confined spaces that larger reconnaissance units cannot penetrate.

The Scout ASU compensates for its limited weapon and technology slots through sophisticated sensor integration and data processing capabilities. Its advanced terrain mapping systems can generate detailed topographical analyses while in motion, while passive sensor arrays provide comprehensive threat detection without compromising the unit's stealth profile. When properly configured, it excels at deep penetration missions, particularly in densely forested or mountainous regions where aerial reconnaissance is impeded. While it lacks the extensive electronic warfare capabilities of larger recon units, its superior mobility and reduced signature make it ideal for gathering critical intelligence in high-risk environments.

Despite sharing the reconnaissance role with the standard Recon ASU (a.k.a. "The Leopard"), the Scout variant offers distinct tactical advantages in challenging terrain. Its specifications mirror those of the Recon ASU but with optimizations for enhanced mobility at the cost of some protective capabilities. The Scout ASU is particularly effective when operating in dense forests, mountainous regions, or urban environments where larger reconnaissance units would struggle to maintain mobility or conceal their presence.

Strategic commanders often deploy Scout ASUs for initial terrain assessment before committing larger forces to unfamiliar areas. Their ability to quickly map viable transit routes through difficult terrain provides invaluable intelligence for planning mobile operations. When equipped with Observer UAVs, these nimble units can extend their surveillance range vertically while maintaining their minimal ground signature, creating a comprehensive three-dimensional intelligence picture.

This unit exists exclusively as a specialized variant within the Field Armoured Support Unit division; it has no direct aerial or naval counterparts. The Scout ASU represents the ultimate expression of ground-based stealth reconnaissance, sacrificing firepower and heavy technology loadouts for unparalleled mobility and infiltration capabilities in the most challenging environments.

Its distributed weight management system allows for unprecedented agility despite increased weapon payload, while each leg features independent power and control systems to maintain mobility even if one limb is disabled. The primary weapon hardpoints are mounted on a fully stabilised upper chassis that can rotate independently of the leg assembly, enabling accurate fire while traversing difficult terrain.

The 700 Series MCV (a.k.a. "The Mantis") introduces a revolutionary hexapod configuration with a distributed neural network that coordinates all six legs independently. This exceptional redundancy, combined with advanced self-diagnostic systems, makes it one of the most survivable mechanised platforms available. The hexapod design enables unprecedented climbing capabilities, allowing the unit to scale near-vertical surfaces and traverse extremely unstable terrain using advanced tactile sensors and adaptive grip systems on each leg.

The 900 Series MCV (a.k.a. "The Scorpion") represents the pinnacle of mechanised combat mobility with its octopedal design that provides unmatched stability and adaptability. Its revolutionary smart-metal actuators allow for precise control of each leg segment, while the distributed power network ensures continued mobility even under severe damage conditions. The unit can adopt different stance configurations based on tactical requirements—spreading wide for combat stability, lowering its profile for stealth operations, or configuring for transport capacity during logistics missions.

MCVs exist exclusively as Field units with no naval counterparts, though their exceptional mobility allows them to ford rivers and traverse shallow water features that would stop conventional vehicles. Their unique locomotion systems make them particularly valuable in environments where traditional Heavy Armour Terrain Units would struggle to operate effectively, such as densely forested areas, steep mountain terrain, urban ruins, and unstable surfaces.

100-Series MCV Blueprint

The 100 Series MCV (a.k.a. "The Rex") represents an innovative approach to battlefield mobility, utilising advanced gyroscopic stabilisation and neural-linked mobility controls to maintain perfect balance in its bipedal configuration. The articulated leg design incorporates adaptive shock absorption and variable-geometry joint mechanics, allowing for precise movement even in complex terrain. This agility makes it particularly effective in urban environments and dense forests where traditional tracked vehicles struggle to manoeuvre.

The unit's relatively compact profile and sophisticated balance control systems enable it to utilise cover effectively, presenting a smaller target than conventional armoured units. The neural interface system provides crew members with enhanced spatial awareness and precise control over leg movements, allowing for complex manoeuvres like rapid direction changes or stable firing positions on uneven terrain. While limited in weapon mounting points, the available hardpoints are highly adaptable, supporting a range of medium weapons that can be quickly repositioned as the unit moves.

A notable feature is the unit's ability to shift between combat and mobility stances. In combat stance, the legs adopt a wider, more stable position ideal for weapon accuracy, whilst mobility stance allows for faster movement and better terrain adaptation. The integrated targeting system automatically compensates for leg movements during walking, maintaining reasonable accuracy even whilst moving at full speed. These capabilities make the 100 Series particularly effective for reconnaissance and rapid response missions.

As the entry point to the Mechanised Combat Vehicle division, the 100 Series introduces commanders to the unique advantages of legged locomotion technology. Its bipedal design represents the most basic implementation of this concept, yet still offers significant mobility advantages over traditional tracked or wheeled vehicles in challenging terrain. The 100 Series serves as an excellent platform for commanders to develop tactics that exploit the three-dimensional movement capabilities that define the MCV division.

This unit exists only as a Field Mechanised Combat Vehicle; for naval operations, commanders must rely on specialized Naval Surface Units or Naval Sub-Surface Units designed for maritime environments.

300-Series MCV Blueprint

The 300 Series MCV (a.k.a. "The Raptor") builds substantially upon its predecessor's foundation with enhanced articulation systems and reinforced actuator assemblies that enable more aggressive manoeuvring without compromising stability. The unit's sophisticated balance control algorithms can automatically adjust stance and positioning to optimise targeting solutions, whilst the expanded hardpoint configuration enables a wider range of tactical loadouts without sacrificing the unit's exceptional mobility.

One of the most significant advances is the integration of jump jet capability, allowing the unit to make controlled leaps to overcome obstacles or quickly change elevation. This system can be used both offensively and defensively, enabling rapid repositioning during combat or tactical withdrawals over otherwise impassable terrain. The enhanced power distribution network supports the increased energy demands of the jump system whilst maintaining weapon functionality, though commanders must carefully manage power levels during extended operations.

The 300 Series features an advanced modular armour system that can be configured for different mission profiles. Light configuration prioritises mobility and jump jet performance, whilst heavy configuration provides superior protection at the cost of reduced agility. The unit's enhanced sensor suite includes advanced motion tracking and prediction systems, making it particularly effective against other fast-moving targets. When properly upgraded, the 300 Series can serve as an excellent counter to enemy light vehicles and infantry units, particularly in complex urban environments.

Representing the second tier in the bipedal MCV progression, the 300 Series offers substantial tactical advantages over the 100 Series while maintaining the same basic locomotion concept. Its jump capability represents a significant evolution in three-dimensional battlefield mobility, allowing it to access positions and traverse obstacles that would be impossible for conventional vehicles and challenging even for the 100 Series. This vertical mobility component makes the 300 Series particularly valuable in multi-level urban operations and complex terrain features like canyons or mountain passes.

This unit exists only as a Field Mechanised Combat Vehicle; for naval operations, commanders must rely on specialized Naval Surface Units or Naval Sub-Surface Units designed for maritime environments.

500-Series MCV Blueprint

The 500 Series MCV (a.k.a. "The Jaguar") marks a dramatic evolution in mechanised combat design, transitioning to a quadrupedal configuration that dramatically improves stability and load-bearing capacity. Its distributed weight management system allows for unprecedented agility despite the increased weapon payload, whilst the quad-leg design provides superior all-terrain mobility. Each leg features independent power and control systems, allowing the unit to maintain mobility even if one limb is disabled.

The increased stability offered by the quadrupedal design allows for the mounting of heavier weapon systems than its bipedal predecessors could support. The primary weapon hardpoints are mounted on a fully stabilised upper chassis that can rotate independently of the leg assembly, enabling the unit to maintain accurate fire whilst traversing difficult terrain. Secondary weapon systems can be mounted on the legs themselves, providing excellent coverage against infantry and light vehicle threats from multiple angles.

A key innovation is the unit's adaptive gait system, which can automatically select the most efficient movement pattern based on terrain conditions and tactical situation. The unit can transition seamlessly between high-speed running configurations for open terrain and careful climbing patterns for steep or unstable surfaces. The enhanced power distribution network enables simultaneous operation of multiple weapon systems without compromising the unit's advanced mobility capabilities, making it an excellent platform for fire support missions in difficult terrain.

As the middle tier in the MCV progression, the 500 Series represents the transition point from bipedal to multi-legged configurations. This quadrupedal design combines the speed advantages of bipedal units with significantly improved stability and weapon capacity. The 500 Series excels in versatile battlefield roles, providing an optimal balance between mobility, firepower, and durability. Its combination of speed and stability makes it particularly effective in mixed terrain operations where adaptability is crucial.

700-Series MCV Blueprint

The 700 Series MCV (a.k.a. "The Mantis") introduces a revolutionary hexapod configuration that fundamentally changes how mechanised units can operate in combat environments. Its distributed neural network coordinates the movement of all six legs independently, enabling the unit to maintain effective combat operations even when multiple limbs are damaged or disabled. This exceptional redundancy, combined with the unit's advanced self-diagnostic and Automatic Repair Systems, makes it one of the most survivable mechanised platforms available.

The hexapod design enables unprecedented climbing capabilities, allowing the unit to scale near-vertical surfaces and traverse extremely unstable terrain that would be impassable to conventional vehicles. Each leg incorporates advanced tactile sensors and adaptive grip systems, enabling the unit to automatically adjust its foot placement and weight distribution in real-time. This capability proves particularly valuable during urban operations, where the unit can climb buildings or navigate through partially collapsed structures.

The innovative chassis design incorporates modular weapon mounting points that can be reconfigured in the field to adapt to changing mission parameters. The primary weapon hardpoints are distributed across the upper chassis, whilst secondary weapons can be mounted on the legs themselves, providing nearly 360-degree coverage. The unit's sophisticated fire control system can coordinate multiple weapon systems simultaneously, making it particularly effective in defensive operations where it can engage threats from multiple directions.

As the penultimate tier in the MCV progression, the 700 Series represents a significant advance in both vertical mobility and operational resilience. Its beetle-like configuration provides superior stability in extremely rough terrain while enabling it to access areas that would be completely inaccessible to conventional units. The 700 Series excels in operations involving complex three-dimensional environments such as mountainous regions, dense urban areas with multi-story structures, or heavily damaged battlefield landscapes where conventional movement paths have been destroyed.

This unit exists only as a Field Mechanised Combat Vehicle; for naval operations, commanders must rely on specialized Naval Surface Units or Naval Sub-Surface Units designed for maritime environments.

Naval Amphibious Units

Naval Amphibious Units (NAUs) represent a specialized class of hybrid vessels that bridge the gap between maritime and terrestrial operations. Akin to advanced hovercraft, these versatile platforms are capable of travelling both on the water's surface and over flat, smooth terrain, providing unmatched tactical flexibility in coastal and riverine environments. Their distinctive air cushion technology creates a pressurized pocket of air beneath the vessel, lifting it slightly above the surface and dramatically reducing friction for high-speed movement across multiple surface types.

NAUs excel in amphibious operations, coastal raids, and riverine warfare, allowing commanders to bypass traditional beach defenses and establish footholds in areas where conventional naval vessels cannot access and land vehicles cannot reach. Their ability to transition seamlessly between water and land operations without requiring specialized landing facilities makes them invaluable for surprise tactical manoeuvres and rapid force projection. However, these vessels will struggle to climb any significant incline due to the physics of their propulsion system, limiting their land operations to relatively flat coastal plains, beaches, and river deltas.

The NAU division includes several specialized variants: the APC NAU (a.k.a. "The Croc") for personnel transport, the Assault NAU (a.k.a. "The Gator") for direct combat operations, the Communications NAU (a.k.a. "The Anaconda") for extended command and control capabilities, and the Recon NAU (a.k.a. "The Komodo") for amphibious surveillance. Each variant maintains the fundamental amphibious capability while specializing in specific operational roles.

The sophisticated environmental adaptation systems onboard these vessels automatically adjust cushion pressure, skirt configuration, and thrust vectoring to optimize performance across different surface conditions. Advanced hull materials resist both marine corrosion and terrestrial abrasion, ensuring operational reliability in the harsh transition zone between land and sea. While their amphibious capability provides unmatched tactical flexibility, NAUs typically feature less armour and fewer weapon hardpoints than their dedicated naval or land counterparts, making them vulnerable in direct confrontations with specialized combat units.

Strategic commanders typically employ NAUs for rapid insertion and extraction operations, riverine patrol and interdiction, logistics support in coastal regions, and establishing initial beachheads ahead of conventional landing operations. Their ability to access shallow water areas and transition directly onto shore makes them particularly valuable in archipelago environments, delta regions, and coastal marshlands where traditional military boundaries blur between naval and ground operations.

APC NAU Blueprint

The Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) NAU (a.k.a. "The Croc") represents a versatile transport that combines the capabilities of both naval and terrestrial personnel carriers. Using advanced hydrostatic drive systems, it seamlessly transitions between water and land operations, providing unmatched flexibility for troop deployment in coastal and riverine environments. The unit employs sophisticated hull geometry that provides optimal hydrodynamics in water while maintaining sufficient ground clearance and stability when operating on land.

Specialized composite materials and adaptive sealing systems protect transported troops and crew from both marine and terrestrial environmental hazards, ensuring personnel arrive at their destination in combat-ready condition regardless of the terrain crossed. The vessel's pressure-management systems automatically adjust internal compartments based on external conditions, creating a stable operating environment for transported units even during rapid transitions between environments.

Advanced ballast and stabilization systems automatically adjust to maintain optimal trim whether operating on land, in water, or during the critical transition between environments. This sophisticated balance control prevents the common pitfalls of amphibious vehicles, such as becoming stranded during shore transitions or capsizing in rough surf conditions. Like other APC variants across divisions, it provides secure transport for troops and crew, but with the added flexibility of amphibious operation.

Multiple pressurized personnel compartments can be rapidly sealed for water operations or opened for land transit, allowing for efficient loading and unloading in various operational conditions. These compartments feature specialized shock absorption systems that protect personnel from both wave impacts in marine environments and terrain irregularities during land movement. The APC NAU serves as the primary means of delivering infantry units during amphibious operations, enabling rapid force projection from water to shoreline without requiring specialized landing facilities.

Strategic commanders typically employ APC NAUs for amphibious assaults, riverine troop transport, rapid evacuation of personnel from coastal installations, and establishing forward operating positions in delta regions. Their ability to bypass traditional beach defenses makes them particularly valuable for surprise tactical insertions, while their capacity to navigate shallow waters allows access to landing zones inaccessible to conventional naval vessels.

This unit exists as a Naval Amphibious Unit only; for pure naval personnel transport, commanders should deploy the APC NSU (a.k.a. "The Orca"), while land-based personnel movement relies on the APC ASU (a.k.a. "The Buffalo") and aerial transport on the APC AOV (a.k.a. "The Griffin").

Assault NAU Blueprint

The Assault NAU (a.k.a. "The Hammerhead") represents the pinnacle of naval surface combat capability in your maritime arsenal. Of all the vessels available, Assault NAUs have the largest number of component slots and the highest configuration maximums for power, heat, and mass, allowing those slots to be fully exploited to create a formidable war machine. With 4 weapon slots and 12-20 technology slots across its three marks, the Assault NAU can be configured with a devastating array of offensive and defensive systems.

These naval battleships are also the only Naval Surface Unit (NAU) capable of being equipped with Missile Silos that can launch long-range guided missiles, which other units can call upon using the Long Range Fire Control technology component. This unique capability allows Assault NAUs to provide critical fire support from safe distances, striking targets far inland or supporting amphibious operations without exposing themselves to direct counter-fire. When properly positioned, a single Assault NAU can project power across vast areas of the battlefield.

The Assault NAU's impressive specifications (13,568-18,995 tonnes) reflect its substantial armament and protection systems. Its power requirements (8.9-19.4 MW) support energy-intensive weapon systems like Plasma Cannons and Railguns, while its thermal capacity (7.1-15.5 MW) allows for sustained combat operations without overheating. The vessel's substantial size provides a stable weapons platform even in rough seas, enabling accurate fire delivery under adverse conditions.

Strategic commanders often deploy Assault NAUs as the centerpiece of naval task forces, supported by Communications NAUs for extended operational range and Recon NAUs for target acquisition. Their formidable firepower makes them crucial for establishing naval superiority, conducting shore bombardment, and defending critical maritime approaches. When equipped with appropriate technology components, Assault NAUs can effectively counter both surface and aerial threats, making them versatile defenders of your naval operations.

This unit exists as a Naval Surface Unit only; for subsurface naval combat operations, commanders should deploy the Assault NSSU (a.k.a. "The Meg"), while land-based heavy firepower relies on Assault ASUs (a.k.a. "The Lion") or Assault AOVs (a.k.a. "The Harpy").

Comms NAU Blueprint

The Communications NAU (a.k.a. "The Kraken") serves as a critical command and control vessel within your naval forces. As with other communications variants across divisions, the Communications NAU typically provides escort duty to larger groups of naval units and acts as a vital relay for operational communications. Any unit that is within its own range of this communications vessel will be able to function much further from any RTN nodes (Installations and Outposts), allowing for tactical strikes deep into enemy-controlled waters or the establishment of an additional Command Centre far removed from the rest of your network.

This approach offers tremendous strategic flexibility but is not without considerable risk. If the Communications NAU is lost through enemy action or accident, control of all mobile units that were exploiting its extended communications range will also be lost. These units will complete their current orders and then go into standby mode, leaving both the vessels and their crews extremely vulnerable to enemy acquisition. This vulnerability makes the Communications NAU a high-value target that enemies will prioritize in naval engagements.

Even something as seemingly minor as the Communications NAU running out of fuel will effectively trap the entire naval task force as they will be unable to receive new orders or move beyond their current operational area until an alternative communications path is established. Prudent commanders enaure these vessels are well-protected, adequately fuelled, and positioned to minimize exposure to enemy forces while maximizing their communications coverage.

The Communications NAU can be equipped with both Comms Range Extenders to dramatically increase its effective coverage area and Comms Disruptors to counter enemy communications networks. With specifications supporting a single weapon slot but 10-18 technology slots, these vessels prioritize electronic systems over direct combat capability. Their moderate mass (28-39 tonnes) and power requirements (4.2-10.7 MW) allow for good operational range while carrying sophisticated communications equipment.

This unit exists as a Naval Surface Unit only; for subsurface communications operations, commanders should deploy the Communications NSSU (a.k.a. "The Hydra"), while land-based communications rely on the Communications ASU (a.k.a. "The Wolf") and aerial communications on the Communications AOV (a.k.a. "The Chimera").

Recon NAU Blueprint

The Reconnaissance NAU (a.k.a. "The Barracuda") represents the eyes and ears of your naval forces, designed to operate at the vanguard of maritime operations. By design, the Recon NAU is a relatively low specification unit compared to other naval vessels. It is not engineered to carry heavy weapons or substantial armour, instead prioritizing speed, agility, and stealth characteristics that allow it to travel deep into enemy-controlled waters largely undetected.

The vessel's sleek hydrodynamic hull design minimizes wake and acoustic signatures, while its advanced propulsion system delivers exceptional speed with minimal thermal output. Sophisticated radar-absorbent materials and geometric stealth features reduce its detection profile significantly, allowing it to approach enemy positions without triggering early warning systems. These stealth capabilities make the Recon NAU ideal for sensitive reconnaissance missions where detection would compromise operational security.

Equipped with an advanced sensor suite including high-resolution optical systems, passive sonar arrays, and sophisticated electronic surveillance measures, the Recon NAU can undertake detailed threat assessments of enemy naval and coastal forces. The intelligence gathered by these vessels proves invaluable for formulating effective strategies to capture and control strategic maritime areas. When paired with Communications NAUs, Recon vessels can transmit real-time intelligence directly to command, enabling rapid tactical responses to emerging opportunities.

The Recon NAU's specifications reflect its specialized role, with a relatively modest mass (15-21 tonnes) that enhances its speed and manoeuvrability. Its 2 weapon slots typically mount defensive armaments only, while its 8-16 technology slots accommodate advanced sensor and stealth systems. The vessel can be equipped with Environmental Scanners to assess coastal conditions for potential landing sites, Radar Stealth technology to avoid detection, and Night Vision systems for around-the-clock surveillance capabilities.

Strategic commanders often deploy Recon NAUs ahead of major naval operations to map enemy defenses, identify vulnerabilities, and establish safe navigation routes for larger vessels. Their ability to operate independently in hostile waters makes them crucial for maintaining situational awareness across contested maritime environments. When equipped with Long Range Fire Control systems, they can also designate targets for Assault NAUs firing from beyond visual range, allowing for precision strikes without exposing valuable combat vessels.

This unit exists as a Naval Surface Unit only; for subsurface reconnaissance operations, commanders should deploy the Recon NSSU (a.k.a. "The Mako"), while land-based reconnaissance relies on the Recon ASU (a.k.a. "The Leopard") or Scout ASU (a.k.a. "The Coyote"), and aerial reconnaissance on the Recon AOV (a.k.a. "The Shriek").

Naval Sub-Surface Units

Naval Sub-Surface Units (NSSUs) represent the undersea component of your maritime forces, providing unique strategic advantages through their ability to operate beneath the waves. Unlike Naval Surface Units (NSUs) that are restricted to the water's surface, NSSUs can dive below the surface, affording them exceptional stealth capabilities and access to the three-dimensional battlespace of underwater environments. However, these sophisticated submersibles have specific crush depth limitations beyond which you are strongly advised not to dive, as even their reinforced pressure hulls cannot withstand the extreme forces of the deep ocean.

The NSSU division comprises several specialized variants, each designed for specific underwater mission profiles. The Assault NSSU (a.k.a. "The Meg") serves as your premier underwater combat platform, featuring the largest weapons complement with specialized launch tubes for both torpedo attacks and vertical missile launches. Its reinforced pressure hull houses sophisticated sonar arrays and pressure-compensated targeting systems for precision strikes against both surface and subsurface targets.

The Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) NSSU (a.k.a. "The Kronos") specializes in the secure underwater transport of troops and crew, incorporating advanced life support systems and pressure-controlled personnel compartments. Multiple airlocks and docking collars allow for safe transfer of personnel to and from other subsurface units or underwater facilities, making this variant essential for deploying infantry units to coastal targets via underwater approach routes that bypass surface defenses.

The Communications NSSU (a.k.a. "The Hydra") serves as a crucial underwater communications hub, equipped with advanced sonar arrays and quantum entanglement communications systems that maintain reliable connections at depth. This variant employs both acoustic and electromagnetic communication methods, automatically selecting optimal transmission protocols based on depth and environmental conditions to maintain command links with submerged forces that would otherwise be isolated from your command structure.

The Reconnaissance NSSU (a.k.a. "The Mako") emphasizes stealth and detection capabilities with its advanced acoustic dampening systems and metamaterial hull coatings that minimize sonar reflection. Multiple passive sensor arrays provide detailed intelligence gathering capability while maintaining minimal emissions, allowing this variant to conduct extended surveillance missions at varying depths without revealing its presence to enemy forces.

All NSSUs share certain operational characteristics distinct from surface vessels. Their maximum operational depth is typically 800 meters, though they operate most effectively in the 200-600 meter range where they balance stealth advantages with safety margins. These units require specialized Naval Operations Outposts for construction and maintenance, and their deployment must be carefully planned with consideration for underwater terrain, thermal layers, and acoustic conditions that affect both stealth and sensor effectiveness. When properly employed, your NSSU fleet provides unmatched capabilities for covert operations, underwater reconnaissance, and surprise attacks from beneath the waves.

APC NSSU Blueprint

Assault NSSU Blueprint

The Assault NSSU (a.k.a. "The Hammerhead") represents the pinnacle of naval surface combat capability in your maritime arsenal. Of all the vessels available, Assault NSSUs have the largest number of component slots and the highest configuration maximums for power, heat, and mass, allowing those slots to be fully exploited to create a formidable war machine. With 4 weapon slots and 12-20 technology slots across its three marks, the Assault NSSU can be configured with a devastating array of offensive and defensive systems.

These naval battleships are also the only Naval Surface Unit (NSSU) capable of being equipped with Missile Silos that can launch long-range guided missiles, which other units can call upon using the Long Range Fire Control technology component. This unique capability allows Assault NSSUs to provide critical fire support from safe distances, striking targets far inland or supporting amphibious operations without exposing themselves to direct counter-fire. When properly positioned, a single Assault NSSU can project power across vast areas of the battlefield.

The Assault NSSU's impressive specifications (13,568-18,995 tonnes) reflect its substantial armament and protection systems.

Strategic commanders often deploy Assault NSSUs as the centerpiece of naval task forces, supported by Communications NSSUs for extended operational range and Recon NSSUs for target acquisition. Their formidable firepower makes them crucial for establishing naval superiority, conducting shore bombardment, and defending critical maritime approaches. When equipped with appropriate technology components, Assault NSSUs can effectively counter both surface and aerial threats, making them versatile defenders of your naval operations.

Comms NSSU Blueprint

The Communications NAU (a.k.a. "The Anaconda") represents a specialized variant of Naval Amphibious Units designed to extend command and control capabilities across the critical boundary between naval and land operations. This sophisticated platform carries advanced communications equipment specifically adapted for optimal performance in both marine and terrestrial environments, ensuring uninterrupted command links during amphibious operations where conventional communications often fail due to environmental interference.

Sophisticated sensor arrays and adaptive transmission systems automatically adjust frequencies, power outputs, and signal modulation to maintain reliable communications regardless of the operating environment. Multi-spectrum antennas and quantum-encrypted transmission protocols ensure secure data links across the electromagnetic spectrum, while adaptive algorithms compensate for the unique signal attenuation and reflection characteristics of coastal environments. The unit serves as a critical communications relay for joint water-land operations, effectively bridging the gap between naval and ground forces that would otherwise experience significant communications challenges.

Like other communications units across divisions, the Communications NAU typically operates with escort protection due to its limited offensive capabilities but critical strategic value. However, its amphibious capability allows it to maintain continuous communications coverage during beach landings and coastal operations, following assault forces onto shore rather than remaining at sea like conventional communications vessels. This mobility ensures command links remain intact during the most vulnerable phases of amphibious operations.

Advanced electromagnetic shielding and environmentally-sealed equipment housings protect sensitive communications technology during the transition between environments, preventing salt water corrosion, sand infiltration, and environmental damage that would compromise conventional systems. The vessel can be equipped with both Comms Range Extenders to dramatically increase its coverage area and Comms Disruptors to counter enemy communications networks, with specialized adaptations that function effectively in both aquatic and terrestrial applications.

Strategic commanders often position Communications NAUs at the critical juncture between naval and land forces during amphibious operations, creating a seamless communications bridge that ensures coordinated action across multiple domains. Their ability to navigate shallow coastal waters allows them to establish communications links in areas inaccessible to conventional naval vessels, while their land mobility enables them to follow advancing forces and maintain optimal signal distribution without requiring additional communications relays.

This unit exists as a Naval Amphibious Unit only; for pure maritime communications, commanders should deploy the Communications NSU (a.k.a. "The Kraken") or Communications NSSU (a.k.a. Recon NSSU Blueprint

The Reconnaissance NAU (a.k.a. "The Komodo") represents the eyes and ears of your amphibious operations, designed to gather critical intelligence across the complex boundary between water and land environments. This specialized variant emphasizes stealth and mobility across both aquatic and terrestrial domains, serving as the vanguard of your coastal and riverine intelligence-gathering capabilities. Its versatile design allows it to scout ahead of main forces, identifying landing zones, mapping defensive positions, and assessing terrain conditions for subsequent amphibious operations.

The Recon NAU employs advanced sensor systems capable of gathering intelligence both above and below the waterline, creating comprehensive three-dimensional situational awareness impossible for conventional reconnaissance units to achieve. Sophisticated underwater acoustic sensors and surface-scanning radar systems operate simultaneously, while specialized optical arrays provide visual intelligence across multiple spectrums. Meanwhile, advanced stealth systems including adaptive camouflage materials, acoustic damping technology, and thermal signature management mask its presence in both environments, allowing it to operate undetected in hostile territory.

The unit's lightweight composite construction and highly efficient power systems allow for extended reconnaissance missions without refuelling, significantly increasing its operational range compared to conventional amphibious vehicles. Its reduced mass enhances both speed and stealth, allowing for rapid movement between observation positions while minimizing detectable signatures. These design optimizations enable deep penetration into enemy-controlled coastal regions without the logistical support other units would require.

Multiple sensor arrays provide comprehensive situational awareness, with sophisticated processing systems that automatically adjust sensitivity, focus, and range based on the operating environment. Environmental sensors detect the transition between water and land operations, triggering immediate recalibration of all reconnaissance systems for optimal performance in the new medium. Like other reconnaissance units across divisions, it sacrifices heavy armament and armour in favour of enhanced stealth and observation capabilities, but with the added flexibility of amphibious operation. Advanced Thermal Shunts and heat-dispersal systems help minimize its detectability during environmental transitions, when thermal signatures would typically spike due to changing cooling conditions.

Strategic commanders deploy Recon NAUs to scout potential landing sites before amphibious operations, patrol the complex terrain of river deltas where conventional units struggle to operate, and establish observation posts at the critical junction between naval and land battlespaces. Their ability to provide continuous intelligence during the transition from water to land operations makes them invaluable during the most vulnerable phase of amphibious assaults.

This unit exists as a Naval Amphibious Unit only; for pure maritime reconnaissance, commanders should deploy the Recon NSU (a.k.a. "The Barracuda") or Recon NSSU (a.k.a. Naval Surface Units

Naval Surface Units (NSUs) constitute the primary surface fleet of your maritime forces, providing robust combat capabilities and essential support functions across water environments. Generally recognised as Ships, these vessels float on, and are restricted in movement to, the surface of oceans, lakes, and larger rivers. Their surface-bound nature limits their stealth capabilities compared to submersible units, but grants them superior firepower, operational endurance, and the ability to project visible force presence across maritime domains.

The NSU division features a diverse range of specialized vessels to fulfill various tactical roles in your naval strategy. The Assault NSU (a.k.a. "The Hammerhead") serves as your premier naval combat platform, featuring the largest number of component slots and highest configuration maximums for power, heat, and mass. These formidable warships are uniquely capable of equipping Missile Silos for long-range guided missile strikes, providing critical fire support to operations across both water and land domains.

The Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) NSU (a.k.a. "The Orca") specializes in the secure transport of troops and crew across maritime environments. These vessels efficiently move infantry units and replacement crew between coastal positions, across bodies of water, or to resupply other naval units that have suffered personnel losses. Their robust design provides protection for transported units while maintaining the speed necessary for rapid deployment and evacuation operations.

The Armoured Transport Carrier (ATC) NSU (a.k.a. "The Leviathan") serves as your primary naval vehicle transport platform, utilizing advanced matter-stream compression technology to move large numbers of vehicles across water barriers. From Heavy Armour Terrain Units to Naval Sub-Surface Units, these specialized vessels can transport virtually any mobile unit in your arsenal, making them essential for large-scale force redeployment operations in archipelago or coastal environments.

The Communications NSU (a.k.a. "The Kraken") extends command and control capabilities far beyond the range of fixed Installations, enabling naval task forces to operate at extended distances from your primary infrastructure. Any naval unit within range of this communications vessel can receive orders as if directly connected to the RTN, though this strategic advantage becomes a vulnerability if the Communications NSU is lost or disabled during operations.

The Reconnaissance NSU (a.k.a. "The Barracuda") provides essential intelligence gathering capabilities with its emphasis on speed, stealth, and advanced sensor systems. These nimble vessels can penetrate deep into enemy-controlled waters largely undetected, conducting detailed threat assessments that inform your overall maritime strategy. When equipped with Long Range Fire Control systems, they can designate targets for Assault NSUs firing from beyond visual range.

All NSUs require minimum water depths based on their hull design and are limited in their operational range by Titan Corporation's orbital weapons platforms that enforce established conflict zones. For operations requiring subsurface capabilities or amphibious functionality, commanders must deploy appropriate Naval Sub-Surface Units (NSSUs) or Naval Amphibious Units (NAUs) instead.

APC NSU Blueprint

Naval Surface Units (NSU) represent your maritime combat and support capabilities, providing essential control over water-based environments. Generally recognised as Ships, these units float on, and are restricted in movement to, the surface of oceans, lakes, and larger rivers. NSUs extend your operational reach across water barriers and provide unique tactical advantages in amphibious operations, coastal defense, and naval supremacy missions.

The APC NSU (a.k.a. "The Orca") serves as your primary naval personnel transport platform, moving troops and crew efficiently across water environments. These vessels are designed to transport infantry units and replacement crew to resupply other naval units that have suffered losses in the field or require evacuation. Typically, they are used for moving personnel quickly across large distances of shoreline, though they also prove invaluable for operations involving offshore islands, where they transport troops between separated land masses.

With specifications supporting 2 weapon slots and 8-16 technology slots, the APC NSU balances defensive capability with its primary transport role. Its substantial mass and specialized hull design provide stable transport even in rough seas, while its moderate power consumption allows for extended range operations without refuelling. Like other Naval Surface Units, the APC NSU requires appropriate dockyards and Naval Operations Outposts for construction, maintenance, and deployment.

Other critical Naval Surface Units include the ATC NSU (a.k.a. "The Leviathan") for vehicle transport, the Assault NSU (a.k.a. "The Hammerhead") for naval combat operations, the Communications NSU (a.k.a. "The Kraken") for extended command and control, and the Recon NSU (a.k.a. "The Barracuda") for maritime surveillance. Together, these vessels form a comprehensive naval force capable of projecting power across any water-based environment.

All Naval Surface Units require water with minimum depths based on their hull design, though they can operate in shallower water than their subsurface counterparts. Be cautious about venturing too far from shore, as both wildlife and Titan Corporation's orbital weapons platforms strictly enforce the established conflict zones, preventing operations in deeper ocean regions.

Assault NSU Blueprint

The Assault NSU (a.k.a. "The Hammerhead") represents the pinnacle of naval surface combat capability in your maritime arsenal. Of all the vessels available, Assault NSUs have the largest number of component slots and the highest configuration maximums for power, heat, and mass, allowing those slots to be fully exploited to create a formidable war machine. With 4 weapon slots and 12-20 technology slots across its three marks, the Assault NSU can be configured with a devastating array of offensive and defensive systems.

These naval battleships are also the only Naval Surface Unit (NSU) capable of being equipped with Missile Silos that can launch long-range guided missiles, which other units can call upon using the Long Range Fire Control technology component. This unique capability allows Assault NSUs to provide critical fire support from safe distances, striking targets far inland or supporting amphibious operations without exposing themselves to direct counter-fire. When properly positioned, a single Assault NSU can project power across vast areas of the battlefield.

The Assault NSU's impressive specifications (13,568-18,995 tonnes) reflect its substantial armament and protection systems.

Strategic commanders often deploy Assault NSUs as the centerpiece of naval task forces, supported by Communications NSUs for extended operational range and Recon NSUs for target acquisition. Their formidable firepower makes them crucial for establishing naval superiority, conducting shore bombardment, and defending critical maritime approaches. When equipped with appropriate technology components, Assault NSUs can effectively counter both surface and aerial threats, making them versatile defenders of your naval operations.

ATC NSU Blueprint

The Armoured Transport Carrier (ATC) NSU (a.k.a. "The Leviathan") serves as your primary naval vehicle transport platform, capable of moving large numbers of mobile units across maritime environments. These specialized vessels are used for transporting vehicles either inland via larger river networks, across substantial inland lakes that would take too long to traverse by land, or circumnavigating islands to deploy units behind enemy lines for surprise tactical manoeuvres.

As with all other ATC units across divisions, the ATC NSU is equipped with ultra-short range transporter technology and high-density electron compression pattern matrices that store the matter streams of units digitally. This advanced system minimises the mass of transported vehicles and simplifies the onboarding and alighting processes for a wide range of unit types. Everything from Heavy Armour Terrain Units to Naval Sub-Surface Units is dematerialised for storage using an optimised implementation of the transporter pads and then rematerialised at a safe distance from the vessel when ready for deployment.

For safety and technical reasons, any personnel installed in mobile units are decamped just prior to dematerialisation, with crews transported separately via appropriate personnel carriers. There remain upper limits to the total number of units a single ATC NSU can transport due to power constraints and capacity considerations related to the number of storage cells installed. Strategic commanders must carefully balance the vessel's load against its operational range and vulnerability during transport missions.

The ATC NSU's specifications are tailored for its specialized logistical role rather than direct combat. Its transport capacity can be expanded by equipping additional Transport Energy Matrix cells, though these add mass, power draw, and heat generation that must be managed carefully, especially for longer-range operations. When properly configured and escorted, the ATC NSU provides unmatched capability for rapid force redeployment across water barriers, serving as a critical component of mobile warfare strategies in archipelago or coastal environments.

This unit exists as a Naval Surface Unit only; for land-based vehicle transport, commanders should deploy the ATC ASU (a.k.a. "The Elephant"), while aerial vehicle transport relies on the ATC AOV (a.k.a. "The Valkyrie").

Comms NSU Blueprint

The Communications NSU (a.k.a. "The Kraken") serves as a critical command and control vessel within your naval forces. As with other communications variants across divisions, the Communications NSU typically provides escort duty to larger groups of naval units and acts as a vital relay for operational communications.

If the Communications NSU is lost through enemy action or accident, control of all mobile units that were exploiting its extended communications range will also be lost. These units will complete their current orders and then go into standby mode, leaving both the vessels and their crews extremely vulnerable to enemy acquisition. This vulnerability makes the Communications NSU a high-value target that enemies will prioritize in naval engagements.

Even something as seemingly minor as the Communications NSU running out of fuel will effectively trap the entire naval task force as they will be unable to receive new orders or move beyond their current operational area until an alternative communications path is established. Prudent commanders ensure these vessels are well-protected, adequately fuelled, and positioned to minimize exposure to enemy forces while maximizing their communications coverage.

The Communications NSU can be equipped with both Comms Range Extenders to dramatically increase its effective coverage area and Comms Disruptors to counter enemy communications networks.

Recon NSU Blueprint

The Reconnaissance NSU (a.k.a. "The Barracuda") represents the eyes and ears of your naval forces, designed to operate at the vanguard of maritime operations. By design, the Recon NSU is a relatively low specification unit compared to other naval vessels.

These stealth capabilities make the Recon NSU ideal for sensitive reconnaissance missions where detection would compromise operational security.

Equipped with an advanced sensor suite including high-resolution optical systems, passive sonar arrays, and sophisticated electronic surveillance measures, the Recon NSU can undertake detailed threat assessments of enemy naval and coastal forces. The intelligence gathered by these vessels proves invaluable for formulating effective strategies to capture and control strategic maritime areas. When paired with Communications NSUs, Recon vessels can transmit real-time intelligence directly to command, enabling rapid tactical responses to emerging opportunities.

The Recon NSU's specifications reflect its specialized role, with a relatively modest mass (15-21 tonnes) that enhances its speed and manoeuvrability.

Strategic commanders often deploy Recon NSUs ahead of major naval operations to map enemy defenses, identify vulnerabilities, and establish safe navigation routes for larger vessels. Their ability to operate independently in hostile waters makes them crucial for maintaining situational awareness across contested maritime environments. When equipped with Long Range Fire Control systems, they can also designate targets for Assault NSUs firing from beyond visual range, allowing for precision strikes without exposing valuable combat vessels.
